Acknowledgments:

  • When the firefighter presses the Communication (C) button, the console records an ACK.

  • All ACKs are time-stamped.

3. Receiving Messages

Incoming messages from Navigators appear as alerts at the top of the console screen:

  • Red = Mayday

  • Yellow = EVAC or PAR

  • Blue = F2F

  • Green = General or Acknowledged

Tap any alert to view the originating device and live feed.

4. Clearing Messages

  • Once acknowledged, select the message and tap Clear to remove it from the active list.

  • All cleared communications remain archived in the Forensics view.

5. Communication Best Practices

  • Always confirm verbal radio traffic matches digital communication.

  • Use PAR checks regularly during extended operations.

  • Log tactical milestones (ventilation, knockdown, rescue complete) immediately.

Safety Reminder

Digital comms should augment, not replace, radio discipline. Maintain redundancy between voice and C-THRU messaging for reliability.
